Rear Admiral Kenneth L. Veth Rear Admiral Veth served as liason between Lord Mountbatten's staff in the China-Burma-India theatre and the U.S. Naval and Air Forces. The first non-flying officer to be a commanding officer of an aircraft carrier, he served on many kinds of craft before retiring in 1972. Rear Admiral Veth attended Minot State College before his appointment to the U. S. Naval Academy at Annapolis.
