Høstfest in the Schools
During Høstfest week, about 20 presenters associated with the festival travel to Minot and surrounding area schools where they introduce Nordic heritage and culture to approximately 6,000 students through the Høstfest in the Schools program, presented by EID Passport. Programs vary every year, and include musical performances, story telling, dancing, historical and educational information.
The program has been so well received by students and teachers that Høstfest presenters consider it a highlight of their Minot visit. "We like to get involved with kids to preserve the arts and crafts of the Viking period," said Viking Village member Dennis Rusinko. "When we go to the schools, we get such a great response."
