Miss Norsk Høstfest 2025 - Erika Littlefield
Erika Littlefield was crowned Miss Norsk Høstfest 2025 on Saturday September 6th during the annual competition held this year at Beowulf Golf Course. Erika grew up on a farm East of New Town and attends Stanley Public Schools as a senior in high school. She participate’s in FBLA, Student Council, Speech, Band, FFA, Track, and serves as the Cheer Manager. Erika also spent a year in Germany as a cultural exchange student through a program called CBYX, which is sponsored by the Bundestag in Germany and the U.S. State Department. She is proud to have been named Miss Norsk Høstfest 2025.
“It is important to share our heritage because it helps people stay connected to their roots, honor the traditions of their ancestors, and pass down their stories to future generations. By celebrating and sharing it, we strengthen bonds within our community and create meaningful connections with others who may share similar experiences or come from different backgrounds. Growing up, I attended the Norsk Høstfest every year. I always looked forward to seeing the Miss Norsk Høstfest of that year—walking around, smiling at people, and being recognized as an amazing young woman. I remember thinking, “I want to be her someday.” To me, this title is about more than wearing a crown—it is about becoming the woman I once admired and being that same inspiration for the younger girls who are now watching.”
With her heritage of both Norwegian and Sweden, Erika will represent the title at this years Norsk Høstfest celebration later this month. With the title of Miss Norsk Høstfest Erika was presented with a prize package with includes a $1000 scholarship from Miranda Schuler – Farmers Insurance, a custom jewelry design by Michele F, Minot ND, as well as other prizes. Miss Norsk Høstfest has also won the opportunity to compete for the coveted title of Miss North Dakota in June of 2026.
Miss Norsk Høstfest represents the spirit, heritage, and cultural pride of North America’s largest Scandinavian festival. More than just a title, she serves as an ambassador for Høstfest throughout the year—celebrating Nordic traditions, supporting community events, and inspiring the next generation to connect with their roots. Through leadership, service, and scholarship, Miss Norsk Høstfest honors the legacy of the festival while helping shape its future.
Miss Norsk Høstfest 2024 - Jersey Johnson
Jersey is a junior at Minot State University majoring in communication sciences and disorders and minoring in both deaf and hard of hearing education, and leadership.
“I am beyond honored to have received the title of Miss Norsk Hostfest 2024,” Johnson said. “I cannot wait to meet everyone at the festival. Thank you for letting me represent my heritage on a larger scale. And a huge thank you to all the sponsors, board members, and volunteers who make this possible.”
Contestants were interviewed and judged on speaking skills, friendly personalities, eagerness to meet and visit with Høstfest patrons, and enthusiastic and knowledgeable about their own Scandinavian heritage.
Johnson will be in attendance the Hostfest all four days sharing her heritage and getting to know about other’s heritage. In addition to wearing the title Miss Norsk Høstfest 2024, Johnson will receive a $1,000 scholarship provided by Farmers Insurance Miranda Schuler Agency as well as numerous other prizes provided by Høstfest sponsors: The Title Team, Michele F Designs, Lein’s Jewelry, Pizza Ranch, Homesteader’s Restaurant & The Flower Box. Johnson will have the opportunity to compete for the title of Miss North Dakota 2025 which will be held in Williston in June 2025.
Searle Swedlund, Norsk Høstfest executive director, said, “Jersey’s connections to the Norsk Høstfest run deep. Over the years her attendance at the event makes her connection and relationship to Høstfest special. She’s like part of the family and we are thrilled to have her represent us in the year to come.”
