Nordic Kitchen

 

The Nordic Kitchen features some of Scandinavia's finest chefs and food artists. Audience members will learn firsthand how to make Scandinavian delicacies, and meet and interact with the chefs before and after each demonstration!

Stig Hansen

Born in Denmark, Hansen has been helping people across the world explore, discover or rediscover Danish culinary heritage. Learn how to dish up delicious servings of authentic Danish cooking with Old World recipes.

 

 

Patrice Johnson

Patrice Johnson is a Nordic food geek and meatball historian who loves to give old Scandinavian recipes a modern spin. She is a food and culture writer, cooking class instructor, and lutfisk visionary. Patrice is currently working writing her first book, titled “Swedish Jul: A Midwestern Story,” published by the Minnesota Historical Society Press in 2017.  

 

Rita Hansen

Born and living in Denmark, Rita has been making Æbleskiver all her life and although she loves new challenges in food recipes she is still making Æbleskiver the traditional way. She will be doing hands-on demonstration of Æbleskiver and other traditional Danish recipes.

 

 

Mari Harries

Proud owner of River City Eatery, a new American restaurant in rural Southwest Minnesota, she is also inspired by the fear of being ordinary. 8 cups of coffee and passion are all she needs to get through a day. Her next adventure, The Danish Table: Hygge Kitchen in Elk Horn, Iowa, will allow her to continue restaurantuering (because I was born to own restaurants), and to celebrate her deep Danish roots as the daughter of a Danish immigrant and consistent family heritage celebrating Danish culture. Her life revolves around her supportive husband + favorite son, food + parties (in no particular order).
