Exhibitor and maker BOOTH

Norsk Høstfest will be carefully selecting authentic Nordic content and Nordic artistic expressions to be featured for sale in the vendor market.

Exhibitors are to be considered vendors who display mainly a product that is not handcrafted or produced by the vendor.

Makers are recognized as vendors whose items are handcrafted meaning they are created and produced by themselves.

Exhibitors/Maker requirements upon selection are that all items sold must be in the character and spirit of Norsk Høstfest and be representative of the Nordic theme. All work must be handcrafted by the exhibitor or approved in advance. All other products must meet the Scandinavian theme criteria.

Sales are subject to commission.

ACCEPTANCE

Vendors must have an executed Exhibitor or Maker Application form with paid booth space fee for participation. Examples of work or digital photos of the product, quality of work, and booth presentation must be submitted with the application. Applications will be considered on a juried basis. If your application is not accepted, the deposit will be refunded.

HOURS OF OPERATION

Exhibitors and non-food vendors will be open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Wednesday-Saturday. Booths must be staffed at all times. All booths are required to remain open until 7 p.m. Food vendors will have the option to stay open until 12 a.m.

SALES & TAX

Exhibitor/Maker is responsible for all sales transactions and must bring their own cash box/credit card system. Exhibitor/Maker is responsible for collecting and paying 5.5% North Dakota sales tax. ARTISAN Booth

Norsk Høstfest will be carefully selecting authentic Scandinavian Artisans with the mastery of traditional Nordic folk art discipline in knifemaking, rosemaling, weaving, woodworking or other Nordic artistic expressions. Artisans must be recognized as a master practitioner or educator in the Nordic folk arts or have been awarded for his/her work, i.e. Vesterheim Gold Medal.

Artisan’s requirements upon selection are that their booth will include demonstrations of their craft creating an interactive, engaging, and educational experience. To take part in one of the greatest and most highly anticipated Festivals to take place in the upper Midwest, apply today! Unique culturally relevant products will also be considered to be sold at Norsk Høstfest.

Artisan Booths involve the sales of artisan’s work. Sales are subject to commission.

FOOD CONCESSIONAIRE BOOTH

Norsk Høstfest will be carefully curating the best food concessionaire booths serving up authentic Scandinavian cuisine representing the five Nordic nations. Food participants must have either a health department permit from their restaurant or a temporary food establishment permit. Insurance and food protection certificates are also required. Unique culturally relevant products will also be considered to be sold at Norsk Høstfest.

Food Concessionaire Booths involve the sales of foods in concession form. Sales are subject to commission.

FOOD SAFETY TRAINING

All persons working in booths who are serving food will require proof of certification of the completion and passing of the temporary food safety training conducted by First District Health Unit. Certification is good for three years. Classes are readily available throughout the year at First District Health Unit Conference Center (801 11th Ave SW, Minot, ND) and online. Class times & online training can be found at http://bit.ly/FoodSafety18 A special Norsk Høstfest class session will be scheduled the week of the festival located on the Skien Mezzanine. Food operation will not be permitted if the training is not completed. Contact Nordic Content Coordinator details regarding the special class session.
