The mission of the Høstfest Heritage Foundation (HHF) is guided by its founding purpose which reads “the Corporation (HHF) is organized primarily to promote the Scandinavian culture and heritage and further relationships with the countries of Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, and Iceland through grantmaking and other activities.”

The HHF Board of Directors recommitted the organization to that purpose in a five-part action-based mission statement calling on the HHF:
To serve as a catalyst constantly focused on the question, vision, and best practices for “how are we preserving the Scandinavian heritage in North America?”
To provide coordination and help for others to celebrate the Nordic heritage by promoting and preserving traditional family, cultural, and community values for the benefit of all generations
To help recruit and inspire new leadership
To develop and cultivate a strong philanthropic culture anchored by a comprehensive fund development program providing the best opportunities for the many friends and donors to financially support the Norsk Høstfest and Scandinavian Heritage associations’ missions and related Scandinavian heritage preservation, both current and future
To be the very best steward of charitable gifts and finances committed to the preservation of our Scandinavian heritage today and tomorrow
