Fjord & Folk
Fjord & Folk - Stories, Traditions & Heritage
Fjord & Folk is a place where friends and families come together to celebrate traditions that connect us to our Nordic roots. This stage at Høstfest brings music, stories, food, and folk culture that reflect the spirit of the fjords and the heart of Nordic life.
This special corner of the festival has been transformed into an interactive cultural space, featuring organizations such as the State Historical Society of North Dakota, the Sons of Norway, and the Daughters of Norway. Together they’ll share activities, stories, artifacts, and knowledge that help generations connect with their heritage. Listen to oral histories — or share one of your own — and take part in hands-on experiences.
Curious about your ancestry? Visit the Genealogy Corner hosted by the Mouse River Loop Genealogical Society. Whether you’re wondering “Where did my ancestors come from?” or looking for help starting your own family tree, they’ll provide guidance and resources to help you begin your family’s story.
