Top 5 Reasons to Camp at Norsk Høstfest

1. All Day Entertainment

We promise you won’t get bored or have any down time to take a nap. There will be entertainment and programming happening all day long, from 9am to midnight every day of the festival! Enjoy big name performers including Big and Rich, Daniel O’Donnell, Lady A, The Texas Tenors, Old Crow Medicine Show, and Brantley Gilbert. Catch some side stage entertainment, featuring something for everyone, at no additional cost. Participate in hands-on experiences and observe talented artisans as they demonstrate their craft. Browse and shop an abundance of vendors for world-class handcrafted Norsk merchandise. Learn and immerse yourself in the cultural phenomenon that is Norsk Høstfest.

2. Access to the Best Food

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner… Høstfest has got you covered. Whether you try something new for each meal or stick with your favorites, you simply can’t go wrong. Indulge in traditional Scandinavian culinary such as Swedish meatballs, Oofda tacos, rømmegrøt, knoephla and kraut, lefse, rice pudding, and so much more. Our apologies if you leave the festival five pounds happier.

3. Make New Friends

On-site camping allows you to make lifelong friends with other campers. Spend time at your campsite getting to socialize with fellow Høstfesters from different states with similar cultural and heritage backgrounds as you. Before you leave, don’t forget to become Facebook friends so you can keep in touch with each other!

4. Affordable Rates

Camping at Norsk Høstfest is cheaper than staying at a hotel and less overwhelming than staying at your great aunt’s house. There is a $150 flat fee for RVs and a $75 flat fee for tent camping, no matter how long the duration of your stay is. Hot showers, water, garbage services, and a dump station are available. Access to electrical hook-ups may require an extension cord and generators may only run from 7am to 11pm. You can find peace of mind wearing your new fancy clogs, knowing there are shuttle services running all day long! Camping spaces operate on a first come, first served basis. So the earlier you come, the better space you’ll get and in turn the more fun you’ll have!

5. Minot Community

Have you been able to experience ‘North Dakota nice’ yet? If not, we promise it’s a real thing. While at Norsk Høstfest, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the Minot community and all its beauty. Our downtown community is bigger and better than ever. Make sure to visit the Scandinavian Heritage Park, where you’ll find remembrances and replicas from each of the five Scandinavian and Nordic countries. We discussed getting the 30-foot tall Swedish Dala Horse into the North Dakota State Fairgrounds, but we realized how ridiculous that idea was and left it be. The Minot City Transit will operate with $5 all day bus passes, with routes to all the best Minot destinations! You’ll leave the festival wondering ‘Why Not Minot’.
