Kent Conrad

Gaylord Kent Conrad was born March 12, 1948 in Bismarck, N.D., and served North Dakota as United States Senator for many years. First elected into the U.S. Senate in 1986, Conrad continued his politcal career until announcing Jan. 18, 2011, that he palnned to retire and not run for re-election in 2012.

Conrad served as chairman of Ranking Member of the Senate Budget Committee for 12 years and, as a Senator of one of the most rural states in the nation, Conrad also serves as s senior member of the Senate Agriculture Committee.
