Competition Requirements
Participants must be…
- Of Scandinavian Heritage (Danish, Finnish, Icelandic, Norwegian, or Swedish)
- Unmarried, have no children, and be between the ages of 17 to 24
- A senior in high school, high school graduate, or successfully completed a G.E.D testing program
- Involved in her community through service, volunteering, or support of local and/or national causes
- Available to attend this year’s festival (September 25 – 28th) and take part in the variety of activities during the festival
- Willing to represent Norsk Høstfest at various occasions throughout the coming year
- Never have been a Miss Norsk Høstfest title holder in the past
Miss Norsk Høstfest 2024 – Jersey Johnson
Jersey is a junior at Minot State University majoring in communication sciences and disorders and minoring in both deaf and hard of hearing education, and leadership.
“I am beyond honored to have received the title of Miss Norsk Hostfest 2024,” Johnson said. “I cannot wait to meet everyone at the festival. Thank you for letting me represent my heritage on a larger scale. And a huge thank you to all the sponsors, board members, and volunteers who make this possible.”
Contestants were interviewed and judged on speaking skills, friendly personalities, eagerness to meet and visit with Høstfest patrons, and enthusiastic and knowledgeable about their own Scandinavian heritage.
Johnson will be in attendance the Hostfest all four days sharing her heritage and getting to know about other’s heritage. In addition to wearing the title Miss Norsk Høstfest 2024, Johnson will receive a $1,000 scholarship provided by Farmers Insurance Miranda Schuler Agency as well as numerous other prizes provided by Høstfest sponsors: The Title Team, Michele F Designs, Lein’s Jewelry, Pizza Ranch, Homesteader’s Restaurant & The Flower Box. Johnson will have the opportunity to compete for the title of Miss North Dakota 2025 which will be held in Williston in June 2025.
